Ingredients: 3/4 cup butter 1/4 cup sugar (or 9 tsp. powdered sugar) 1 cup walnuts or blanched almonds 2 tsp. cold water 2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted 2 tsp. vanilla dash of salt Directions: Cream sugar and butter and add vanilla. Add ground nuts to mixture and beat well. Add the water, flour and salt then knead thoroughly. Roll into small "finger sized" pieces. Place on parchment paper or silicone mat and bake at 300°: for about 30-35 minutes or until cookies are just brown. When cool dip one end in melted chocolate or dust with powdered sugar. It's best to make only one batch at a time in the oven to insure even baking. These can be stored in an airtight container for a long time and the flavor actually improves with age! |
