Da-Saz is the name of a collective, a studio and a band. Confused? The music makes is all clear!

The band Da-Saz is a quartet with Lio on electro, Gena on violin/guitar, Dhruv on vocals and Suchet on percussion.

With poetry in Urdu, Farsi, Punjabi and Hindi, the band spans the genre of urban-traditional, performing music that traces its roots while reaching out to a worldwide audience.

Da-Saz are signed on to major label Phat Phish.

Mystique released their debut CD Melodies of the Orient in 2004. It was a mammoth effort that featured eight musicians from five different countries and took four years to publish.

By any standards, the album was a landmark - mood-inducing music encased in  instrumental virtuosity. It was released on independent label Da-Saz Records which accounts for its selective availability.

Band members sell it at events, and www.da-saz.com has made some tracks available for download. Now the CD is a collectors item since the publisher has lost the master and less than a handful remain with me!

Mystique are currenlty working on their second CD in New Delhi.

This latin-jazz quartet plays traditional music from Central and Latin America with an eastern twist! Groovy and uplifting, you can hear authentic classics like Girl from Ipanema and Summertime alongside boleros, samba and bossa-novas.
