We should consider both CCPM and SDPM as "methods of the critical chain" as a general form of comparing such approaches to others. However, the definition of what is the Critical Chain for CCPM and SDPM may differ a little bit. For SDPM, besides the resource-critical-path calculated with the analysis of renovable resources (such as manpower and machinery), the resource-critical-path will also include materials availability and cash flow. For a more accurate comparative table of CCPM to SDPM, please refer to a paper presented by Peter Mello, Russell Archibald and Vladimir Liberzon at PMI COS 2008 In Portuguese, there is an interesting "strong and weak points to both CCPM and SDPM" available at www.correntecritica.com. The name of the text in Portuguese is "Pontos Fortes e Fracos do CCPM e SDPM", by Peter Mello. |
