I am connected with pictorial photography for more than thirty years and I have a definite bias to add human being as a subject in most of my pictures. Though I started off with Film as a medium for photography, I have gone fully Digital for Imaging . Between 1980 and 1990 I was involved in Salon participation and had some moderate success in bagging a Silver Plaque, a couple of Certificates of Merit and Honourable Mentions in the Indian Photographic Salons. After 1990, I could only do a bit of travel photography mainly due to time constraints. Higher responsibilities in the workplace compelled me to abstain from this hobby, I practically had no choice. Again from 2005 June , I resumed photography . I am a Life Member of Photographic Association of Bengal (PAB) and currently I have been nominated as the Salon Chairman of PAB. I shoot mainly for my Web Gallery at Pbase.com. I have gone almost whole time into photography . I am also into teaching basic photography to young aspirant photographers these days. Alongwith a few of my associates, I have founded a Photography Forum (Photos2Net.com) which has restricted membership only through referrals and it is growing day by day. It has members from many countries apart from India. My pictures have been used commercially for Advertisements and Calenders.

My photo gears are simple and functional for my kind of photography. I use Canon 400D with BG-E3 Battery Grip , Canon EF 28~80 mm USM V, Canon EF 75~300mm USM III, Tamron AF 19~35 mm and a Tamron 70~300mm Di LD Macro 1:2. Occasionally a Manfrotto 676B with a Manfrotto Swivel & Tilt Head 234 RC come handy when using long focal length lenses. When it comes to Film photography ( I occasionally use Films) I use a Canon Elan IIe body. |
