WE GO HARD!

Cross Country: a sport in which runners compete to complete a course over open or rough terrain. The courses used at these events may include grass, mud, woodlands, hills, flat ground, gravel, sand, trails, and water.  Runners compete in all weather conditions and are considered some of the most intense athletes on the planet.

Welcome to the Stuyvesant Girls Cross Country website.  Any information you need regarding the our current team, becoming a member of the team, our practice schedule, our race schedule, and just about anything else related to Stuy running can be found on this website.  Please feel free to contact Coach Pluchino if you have any questions or would like more information.

Alright, 2-3 hours a day is a bit of an exaggeration,
but we definitely spend a lot of time running!

Important Information!

  • Requirements for XC Post-Season If your goal is to continue racing through the borough and city championships, I need to you break 30:00 for the 5K (or 24:15 for the 2.5) by Grand Prix #4 (10/19).  If you're not up to this race pace yet, it's generally a good sign that you need to build you aerobic base before you can move on to tougher workouts.  The best way to do this is through long, easy runs (like the ones we do at Stuy on Mondays and Fridays).  Most experienced XC runners will spend all summer working on this base level of fitness, and I know that many of you are new to running and have been thrown ...

Note: If there is ever a conflict between what has been said at practice and what is on the calendar, go with what was said at practice.
