One Time OpportunitiesThese items are task oriented and when complete, that's it! I know there are lots of people who like to work this way! - URGENT: Someone to work from home to publicize our internship training opportunities as described at Internships. We want you to research where seminary, social work, and other interns find their internship opportunities and get us listed! This very successful intership program is crucial to us helping our street-dependent homeless young people. We have committed to training 100 future leaders of urban poverty-informed ministries!
URGENT: Our ministry is growing and doing very well. We need someone to write a general grant for support to two organizations that we have identified willing to support faith-based organizations. Support would be for all the ongoing activities described under What We Do. - Someone to help create a second or third home page that is more graphical and engaging using Google Sites. We'll alternate these monthly.
- A fund raiser for a specific projects. I prefer to raise funds for my own family expenses, but I'd love to bring a couple of fund raisers on board for special projects. There are several projects that could be taken on right now and when finished, they are finished.
- Raise funds to give stipends to 2 or 3 street leaders on a monthly basis for one year. In turn, they would have the means to be mentored on a daily basis by Terry and act as his assistants.
- Raise funds for a Spring 2012 volunteer appreciation and celebration day. We have approximately 300 supporters of the ministry. Of course not all would attend. We would also invite street youth to such an event.
- An event planner for our Christmas 2011 Party
Ongoing OpportunitiesWe are looking for high capacity volunteers who can help is on an ongoing basis, 2-3 hours most weeks. You will help us manage our program, learn about our strategy and make a large leveraged contribution to the ministry's success. Many openings exist for the right gifted people: - URGENT: To manage material and logistics for any one of our ministry events on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. This person would receive messages about what we lack in our ministry supply closet at an event, write Facebook posts about what is needed, and use their personal networks and ours to locate in-kind donations to supply the ministry closet. In addition, you would coordinate our needs for the event when people haven't yet signed on to the CareCalendar.
- URGENT: A publicity coordinator for 2012. This needs to be someone willing to get us listed us on all applicable web site listings (ABBA, Volunteer sites, Austin Underground, I live here/I give here, etc.), submit us for radio spots (Christian stations, public radio), submit us for newspaper articles (we've never been written about in the Austin Statesman yet, submissions to West Austin News, other locals, church newsletters, presbytery news, etc), submit us for TV (public TV, Gathering Texas, etc.)
- URGENT: A logistics and material handler to coordinate each of our Cold Weather Response nights for Winter 2011-2012. You would contact the response cells assigned the night, coordinate with them delivery and loading of supplies, coordinate unloading and sorting at our storage facility, and let the cells next up know what we already have and what we need.
- URGENT: We need a small team of editors to edit and proofread 200-600 word articles, emails, and web pages. You can do this all virtually and by email. We ask for 2 hour response if you cannot do an assignment. We ask for a 12 hour return of assignments. Experience isn't required but you should be a good English writer (organization), editor (mercilessly reducing word count for this fast paced world), a good proof reader, and willing to check facts. No HTML or web knowledge required.
