First of all, we really want you in our ministry! Street youth are most like college students and we believe that they respond best with you around! So consider what important roles can do in minsitry: - Drop-by and say hi to street youth anytime you're on the Drag. The more you see, smile, and interact with them, the more we will begin to form a real community in West Austin. You can take them left-overs from a group meeting, drop by with donations of needed items anytime and be welcomed by them.
- Ride the bus with our clients from the UT Campus area to a fellowship meal on Wednesday nights. Your presence will help the street youth feel at ease and you'll get a chance to know several clients. You can take FW or bus #19 back at 5:15 or stay for our fellowship meal and small group and be dropped back on campus at 7:45.
- Come be a helper for our Prayer Time (Monday at 11a), Bible Study (Tuesday at 2p), onmini-mission trip (Friday at 4p). A once a month commitment will really make a difference.
- Hold a sock in one of your classes, social, or church groups.
- Collect used clothing or some of the other ministry needs and deliver them at one of our weekly events.
- Request a speaker from SYM for your group.
