Wedding

Thanks to a new law, there is more choice about where you can get married. To be married in a church, you have to show any one of the following connections with the parish.

          One of you

  • was baptised in the parish
  • was prepared for confirmation in the parish
  • lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months at any time
  • regularly attended normal church services in the parish for a period of 6 months at any time

One of your parents, at any time after you were born
  • lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months
  • regularly attended normal church services in the parish  for a period of 6 months.
One of your parents or grandparents was married in the parish

Divorced people who live in the parish can be married at St Peter and St Paul's, Bishop's Hull.

The vicar will advise you on flowers, readings and music and help you put together a service that is very personal and reflects your relationship.

In 2009 the fee for a marriage service in church is £282.50. There is an additional charge for organist, bells and heating.
