The parish of Bishop's Hull is situated to the south of the county town of Taunton. The northern end of the parish stretches into the town centre and the southern edges into the countryside. There are nearly 3000 residents and the centre of the village has a post office, a butcher's, a pub, a club and a hotel.
The church is situated in the centre of the village on the top of the hill. It has a Norman tower and chapel and 16th and 19th century additions.
