About St Peters' Singers Who
are we? The St Peter's Singers comprises the St Peters' Adult choir and about 20 more singers, mostly from the St Peter's congregation. No auditions necessary. What do we do? Sing at the Service of Nine Lessons and Carols, and for a Spring Concert. We rehearse for about 7 weeks prior to the event, on Friday evenings from 7:30 – 8:30pm. What kind of music do we sing? Carols, anthems, longer works, e.g Faure's Requiem, Vivaldi's Gloria, Handel's Kleine Orgelmesse. Why do we do it? Most of the “augmenters” are people who love singing sacred music, but are unable to sing with the church choir all year. It has proved an excellent way to encourage new members into the regular church choir. Money Matters. It is free to be in the choir. The church pays for hire of music scores. The Spring Concert this year will be raising money for future concerts. If you live in or near Bishops Waltham and are interested in joining the St. Peters' Singers, please contact the choir director, Fleur Wainwright. | Calendar
