HOSPITALITY
We are called to show the heartfelt hospitality of a kind and caring community that seeks and serves Christ in all persons.
Hospitality Ministry Team This team will focus on those tasks that will help to attract people to come to St. Paul’s. Once here, we will try and make them comfortable, welcomed and valued. We hope to provide spiritual nourishment for those outside, so they are drawn in as “Christians in Community”. The traditional “Greeting” function requires new leadership to provide for enhanced newcomer and summer visitor welcoming. We want to make it easier for people to enter into Anglican worship at our church. Personal contact and clear messages with a minimum of jargon will be coupled with friendly direction and assistance to explain how we do things here. Along with those things we have done, (funeral hospitality, coffee hour, lemonade in summer), we wish to make it easier to get to know people and to show genuine hospitality. We want to reach the youth. We want to combine bible study with social time, to reach out to all without “dumbing-down” as we consider how we can best put “sizzle” into church. We will engage in discussion around how we perceive our physical property; as a gathering space for the community, a place where things happen, and that we are open not just for worship but also for meetings, concerts and other functions. Can we be a space for those from various traditions to explore what it means to be Christian? We will give consideration to signage and advertising, consistency in all messages, flyers, brochures, bulletins, power point presentations, and the website. We hope to build upon our history as a welcoming community and build a community that will be even more welcoming and inclusive. We hope to create an atmosphere of faith and belonging. Every visit can be seen as an opportunity to change a life.
