As most of you have heard by now Pastor Knoll has elected to
retire in July 2013. Please join me in thanking Pastor for his years of service
at St. Paul’s and congratulating him on his upcoming retirement. He has been a
wonderful minister to this congregation for the past five years. I know this
has been a difficult and emotional decision for Pastor Knoll and I’m sure it
has been for Linda and Esther as well. Please keep them in your prayers over
the next year as they prepare to make this next step in their lives. They have
truly become part of the St. Paul family over the past five years and they will
definitely be missed. While Pastor Knoll will definitely be missed we can take
comfort in the fact that God already knows the name of the next Pastor at St.
Paul Lutheran Church.
We can also take comfort in the fact that God has a plan for
this congregation. I believe that has never been clearer than it is right now
at St Paul. As you likely know, the congregation has been blessed with some
recent significant financial gifts. Not long ago in this congregation we feared
for how long this church could be financially viable. The gifts we have
received don't get us completely out of the woods, but they have given us an
opportunity to grow and do things we couldn’t consider before. I don’t know the
plans God has in store for our congregation, but I know God does. He has
blessed this congregation with tremendous talents, many hardworking members,
recent financial gifts and has now made it known to us that he has chosen our
next Pastor to lead us on that journey. All of that combined is a clear
indication that He has a plan for this church. We should all take comfort and
be excited in that knowledge. As Pastor said in his letter “our Glory Days are
now.”
Our organist/choir
director, Teresa Green, is completing requirements of her own denomination and
will be leaving us the weekend of May 12/13. Teresa
has been a great asset to our congregation and her skills will definitely be
missed. There will be a small reception after each service that weekend to wish
her well in the future.
In Christ,
Josh Graeve
