Sadly Mr Frank Lawrence, one of our loved and staunch Life Members of our Club passed away yesterday, Monday. His Funeral/Mass Service will be held at St Patricks Church, Sutherland on 4th August at 11am. All Welcome. I have spoken with the Principal, Mr Warren Loy, at St Patricks Primary School to ask for permission for any child from our club to take thier St Pats Soccer Shirt to school and wear it in respect of Frank on that Tuesday. Mr Loy has given his blessing for any child to do this is they want and that he would allow enough time for the kids to change into it just before the service and form a Guard of Honour as his car proceeds into the Church. Your children do not have to do this but i thought it would be something nice if there are any children who wish to. As parents you need to explain this to your children. For this weekends games we have approval from the Association to wear Black Armbands for all games, home and away. I would also be nice to hold a minute silence before each game at Forest Rd, if our teams could take the field and all face the clubhouse, then hold silence for one minute. I will be there all day Saturday to assist in this. I have also organised a table with a condolence book for anyone wishing to sign or send a message to the Lawrence Family, I will then pass this onto them after the weekend. As i am not sure that this message will get to everyone, I am going to send it to our Website and if you could also pass it on to other members. Kindest Regards FIFA World Cup 2010 Ultimate Tour Information With the Socceroos having qualified for the 2010 World Cup we have asked Bruce Tilt from Ultimate Sports Travel in conjunction with Travelscene Cronulla to provide us with information for players and families should they be interested. Our former St Pats Jerseys have now found new homes and thought that i would pass onto you where they are now living and where the "St Pats Spirit" has spread to. Our Senior shirts have been passed onto St Catherine Labour'e Parish to be sent to Fiji. Our Junior shirts have been passed onto Paul Gallagher who kindly passed them onto another organisation who helos assist children who are less fortunate than us and here is the response from them:- "Thank you for the football jerseys delivered today to my office today. The jerseys will be sent to Cambodia within the next month and I will make sure that you have photos of teams training/ playing in St Patrick's Sutherland FC gear. ISF set up the football program 3 years ago; it now has over 1,500 children being trained twice a week; with the squads needing second hand football boots, training gear, playing gear etc which is being achieved through supporters like your organisation." also Boot Bonanza!! |
