ABOUT US:
The Story County and Iowa City, IA genealogical societies were the first to be granted chapter status by the Iowa Genealogical Society on March 11, 1969.  There were 34 charter members of Story County Genealogy Society on January 11, 1968.  Some of our projects have been: To index a History of Story County, (published in 1887)  by William H. Allen; to read and record tombstone information in all Story County cemeteries which was published by the Iowa Genealogical Society.
