Call for Donations! Seed Money

You have probably heard the old adage that it takes money to make money.  This is true of fund raising as well.   "Stories Without Borders" is currently fund raising to create a fund raising reel.  What is a fund raising reel? A fund raising reel is a short preview of the film we intend to make.  It will be used as we appeal for both private donations as well as applications for grants to help finance our educational film.  We will also widely distribute it via the Web to attract additional attention to our project, increase Web traffic to our sites, and hopefully receive more donations from individuals and organizations that share our vision of communicating and celebrating these stories and the cultures in which they play a role.  The fund raising reel is a vital first step in being able to raise money. The primary expense in the creation of the fund raising reel is filming on location , basic equiptment costs, and editing to ensure that the reel captures the quality and intention of the forthcoming film.  Donations at this point will also fund any application fees for grants, grant writing, and other important steps necessary to secure the funding it will take to produce a high quality documentary with real educational and transformative value.  We thank you in advance for your support and encouragement.  All donors who contribute $25 or more will be acknowledged in the closing credits of the final documentary.  We hope to begin production of the documentary in May 2013.  You can learn more about exactly how money donating to SWB is being spent by checking out the film time line.
