The Stokkeland surname, as far as I know - or at least my great-great++ ancestors, originates from the south west coast of Norway, the Jaeren flatlands south of Stavanger - a good portion of them from the village of Brusand. I have driven by the Stokkeland farm in that area, but never actually visited it. Quite frankly, in the summer time it smells like crap there, likely due to use of cow dung and stuff on the fields.
