Catholic Engaged Encounter is an in-depth, private, personal, marriage preparation experience within the context of Catholic faith and values. The weekend is open to any engaged couple wanting to prepare for a deeper, more meaningful life together in a marriage recognized by the Catholic Church according to its Church law.
Catholic Engaged Encounter is an investment in the future - a weekend experience in which an atmosphere is created that enables each couple to concentrate exclusively on one another while free of the pressures and interruptions of daily life. It is a non-recreational retreat, but a beautiful a program designed to give each couple an opportunity to discuss honestly with each other, in a face-to-face manner, their strengths and weaknesses, desires, ambitions, goals, their attitudes about money, sex, family, spiritual values, and their role in society.
In 1992, Pope John Paul, II proclaimed Catholic Engaged Encounter as a Vatican approved marriage preparation program, and fulfills the requirements for immediate preparation for marriage in the Catholic Church as prescribed by the Diocese of Stockton.

Your Stockton Catholic Engaged Encounter weekend will start at early on a Saturday morning with breakfast and goes until late Saturday evening. Then we meet again early on Sunday morning and go until Sunday afternoon. While couples do not stay at the facilities though out the weekend, the weekend schedule is designed with a retreat atmosphere in mind.
