After over a year of what appeared to be outlandish drill hole promotion fought against by some posters (of which a couple were silenced with pending court action) on both Stockhouse and Agoracom, curiosity lead to the development of a 3D drill hole representation of ISM's data to find out what all the fuss was about.
The first model (posted on YouTube: ISM Langmuir North Drill Results DivX) was developed using Solidworks and a Visual Basic script for manually entering data. In this model, only holes 65 thru 123 were modeled. After viewing the model, a few ISM posters did not like what they saw and cried foul - claiming that the model was a lie and incomplete. Not wishing to spend time manually entering in the previous holes, and wishing to find a model format that could be freely shared with the community for honest, constructive opinions, another program was required. This eventually led to Google's Sketchup and Ruby API through which ISM drill results could be copied from SEDAR posted news releases and pasted into a simple text file for loading into Sketchup. This second model was then posted (with all the drill holes) on YouTube: ISM Langmuir North Drill Results take II.
Note: the pevious 65 drill holes did not add any significant additional information other than a *lot* of holes were drilled in the area.
The model also displays some of the Open Pit challenges this ore body may face given it's proximity to another property not owned by ISM. This is based on:
Underground mining may (or may not) be an issue depending on proximity of the Langmuir #2 Mine ramps, drifts, etc that extend into this property and the pillar size required to keep this existing infrastructure stable. Attachments:
