Our Mission Statement

We, the Christian Community of St. Matthew Roman Catholic Church, commit ourselves

to actively embrace the Gospel values of faith, hope and love,

expressing ourselves in a spirit of stewardship,

responding openly and prayerfully in service,

and reaching out to all through a welcoming, listening and respectful attitude.

For the next five years, Saint Matthew Church is committed to pursue these goals as the top priorities for our parish mission:

1.  To encourage more active and visible involvement of more of our younger members (ages 0-35) in our worship and other parish activities.

2.  To reach out with witness of our faith, welcome and assistance to those in Jackson County who have special needs or who may desire to be a part of our parish, especially:
a) those who are non-active Catholics
b) those who have no church
c) those who may be impeded from physical presence by illness or disability.

3.  To make necessary preparations to build a hall which will provide appropriate space for a wider range of parish ministries than our present building allows.
