Our loch keeper and all of our outlets have an intimate knowledge of the loch with regard to where to fish, what methods to use, essential information for maintaining safety in inclement weather, and fishing tips specific to the lochs.
In other words as well as a permit they can give you the best possible start to your fishing expedition.
How to obtain your permit.
You may obtain your permit from the loch keeper @ Glengaber Cottage Cappercleuch - take the turn off for Tweedsmuir/Megget halfway along St Mary's loch at the AA box follow the road for 1 mile approx and when you see the chrome sign at Megget dam Glengaber cottage is on your right, Permits are also available from the Tibbie Shiels Inn, the Glen Cafe have also been appointed as an official outlet for our permits as have Fishers in Penicuick all contacts can be obtained via our links page.
ANGLERS MUST OBTAIN A PERMIT BEFORE COMMENCING TO FISH UNLESS A PRIOR ARRANGEMENT HAS BEEN MADE BY PHONING .

There are currently 5 boats available on St Marys Loch. To avoid disappointment pre booking is recommended. We also have one boat on the loch o the Lowes for hire.
