Welcome to the website of the St Mary's College Society. The Society is the alumni association for all graduates of composed St Mary's College, University of Durham. All students pay a subscription in their first year of their degree which entitles them to a lifetime membership of the Society. Upon graduation full membership is achieved.

What does the Society do? The principal aim is to provide a focus for former students and enable them to maintain their links with the College. A further aim is to aid the College in providing an exceptional educational experience for current students. To this end, the Society administers the various travel bursaries, which are available to students with projects worthy of financial support; details of how to apply may be found within and also administers the Fifty-Six Book Fund, which provides grants for Mary's st
udents to buy essential academic books. Both of these funds use money raised from the alumni body.

The most visible activities of the Society are the newsletter and the annual reunion. The newsletter is published online, with a new edition being produced annually for all members, providing news of current events at Mary's, alumni news, and a variety of articles detailing past happenings. The annual reunion  is held within College each September, affording an opportunity for members to re-live the Mary's experience and meet fellow alumni. To complement this the Society is actively developing a range of local reunion events in all areas of the country and supporting student efforts to create 'old boys' events.
