Politics for Catholic Young Adults

Faithful Citizenship

In Forming Conscieces for Faithful Citizenship: A Catholic Call to Political Responsibility, the bishops remind us: “In the Catholic

tradition, responsible citizenship is a virtue, and participation in political life is a moral obligation” (no. 13). The decisions we

make as citizens about who leads us and what policies are enacted have important moral and ethical dimensions. The values of

our faith should be our guide to public life.

Virginia Catholic Conference

The Virginia Catholic Conference represents the public-policy interests of the Commonwealth’s Catholic bishops and their two

dioceses. On behalf of Richmond Bishop Francis DiLorenzo and Arlington Bishop Paul S. Loverde the Conference engages in

advocacy on respect-life, social justice, and education issues through contacts with state and federal lawmakers, grassroots

advocates, and media outlets.
