This Week's Message

“Zechariah wrote, ‘His name is John’…,”

DUE TO THE PREDICTED SNOWSTORM, THIS WEEK’S MIDWEEK SERVICES ARE ON
THURSDAY.

Midweek Advent Worship Services continue this week on Thursday, December 10th, at 8:30 AM, 3:30 PM, & 7:00 PM.

This week’s advent series has the psalms announcing that when Christ came at Christmas, he came as King, Prophet, & Priest.  This week we consider Christ’s prophetic office, according to Psalm 40:5-10.

Due to the change in schedule, the usual late afternoon supper has been postponed to a later date.

The Choir Concert for Christmas will be presented on two occasions: on Saturday night the 12th at 6 PM, and on Sunday morning the 13th at 9 AM.  This year’s service is entitled “Emmanuel: God With Us”.  Worship will feature all of Saint Mark’s choirs, both adults and children, and many instrumentalists, as well.

The Third Sunday in the Advent Season is the focus for services on Sunday morning at 7:30 & 10:45.  Luke 1:57-66 will serve as sermon text.  It recounts the miraculous circumstances of the birth of John the Baptist—and reminds us of his message of repentance in preparation for Christmas.

 “…Immediately Zechariah’s mouth was opened.”
