Compulsory Education based on the Leerplichtlandsverordening (P.B. 1991, no. 85) on the island of St. Maarten is in accordance with the UNICEF "RIGHTS of A CHILD ACT".  Article 29 of the "Rights of a Child Act" states that every child has the right to an education.

Education is a human right that every child deserves.  It gives children the opportunity to live successful and productive lives while building and strengthening their community.

Here on St. Maarten Compulsory Education is a law; all children have the priviliege to attend school and have a brighter future. Sending your child to school is not a choice, it's the law.

Did you send your child to school today?
