Tuition changes at eighteen and thirty six months .
To finalize your enrollment, a deposit of one month's tuition is required. The deposit will be credited to your first month's tuition and enrollment fee. Families who have siblings enrolled at the same time receive a 10% discount on the oldest child's tuition, families with more then two children enrolled receive an additional 5% discount (Youngest child full tuition, middle children 5% discount, oldest child 10% discount - while siblings are attending together). Alumni siblings receive priority on the waiting list but do not receive a sibling discount

Tuition for continuing families is set each fiscal year (July-June) and is billed monthly, due on the 25th of the month preceding care.  There is also a one-time, initial Enrollment fee of $425/child, and an annual $200 Supply, Equipment & Materials fee, which is due in July of each year.

Tuition Assistance
Up to 25% of our families receive some form of tuition assistance, which can range from 5%-95% of tuition.

TUITION ASSISTANCE FOR JULY 2011 - JUNE 2012 HAS BEEN DISTRIBUTED FOR THE YEAR.

Applications for July 2011 - June 2012 were distributed in March 2012, and will follow the guidelines listed below.

St. John's Childcare no longer has a contract with the California Department of Education (CDE).
We do have a tuition assistance program to provide spaces to families who are income eligible (generally limited to families whose combined income does not exceed $75,000 annually), and meet certain need and eligibility requirements.   There is also a limited amount of scholarship funding from the City of Berkeley for low-income Berkeley residents.
All of our families are required to make a financial contribution towards their child's tuition.  Sliding scale below is a guideline, generally we are not able to fund very many families at these rates.  For example, for the 2011-2012 fiscal year, we distributed $52,000 in tuition assistance.
