We know that the time from infancy through kindergarten is a unique, wonderful and sometimes challenging time in a mom's life, and we seek to nurture, support and encourage each other so we can be the best mothers we were called to be. MOPS at St. John is part of MOPS International a group of non-denominational MOPS groups that are all united in the common goal of encouraging, equipping and developing Mothers of Preschoolers in the name of Jesus Christ. However, MOPS is open to ALL mothers of children from infants to kindergarteners, regardless of race, religion or background. Our theme for 2011-2012 is MomSense: Bold • Loving • Sensible – equips moms to embrace their mothering instincts and develop their own parenting style while navigating through the myriad of daily mom decisions. The spiritual foundation of the theme is from 2 Timothy 1:7. "God doesn't want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible." As you read the whole chapter, you see that Timothy had a strong mother and grandmother who nurtured his faith. Paul exhorts Timothy to use the gifts God has given him in a bold, loving and sensible way.
