This committee recommends location and appropriateness of art work in public areas, assists in relocating needed items (bulletin boards, etc.) and makes recommendations to Congregation Council regarding future purchases of high quality art. The committee meets the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. in Room 303.

| Christian Education Committee |
| This committee is charged with the teaching of the Good News of Jesus Christ in this congregation. The opportunities for learning are diverse. Sunday School is held from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. for ages two through senior members. Other learning opportunities include: Intergenerational events, Confirmation Retreats, Vacation Bible School, and Thursday Morning Bible Study. This committee meets the second Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m., in Room 200.
This committee manages the endowment gifts and investments. Meetings will be held the first Tuesday of the quarter (January, April, July, October) at 5:00 PM in Room 200. If more frequent meetings are needed, the chair will contact committee members about best possible dates/times (appointed membership).
This committee encourages members of the congregation to reach out to others in the community by sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ and inviting them to join this faith community. The committee creatively seeks new ways to welcome visitors, to nurture the faith community of St. James and to inspire spiritual growth. The committee meets the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in Room 200.
This committee includes the officers of the Congregation Council and the pastors. It determines the agenda for the monthly Council meetings and addresses specific issues as needed. The committee meets the Tuesday, one week before Council, every month at 6:00 p.m. in Room 200 (elected council officers and the pastors).
Members work to prepare and serve food and drink for times of fellowship. These events have included dinners for new members, visiting choir groups and senior members, confirmation breakfasts, congregation lunches and church festival gatherings. The committee meets as announced.
This committee considers church committee requests to fund programs and formulates our annual budget for adoption at the Annual January Congregation Meeting. The committee meets the second Tuesday of every month at 12:00 noon in Room 200.

| This committee oversees health related programs such as Blood Pressure Screenings, Prayer Chain, Blood Drives, Prayer Shawl Ministry, and Stephen Ministry. This committee meets as scheduled.

| This committee is responsible for gathering, organizing and safely storing all materials pertaining to past and current events in the life of St. James. The committee meets the fourth Tuesday of even numbered months at 6:30 pm.
Information Technology Committee
| This committee addresses issues related to data/computers and voice/telephone applications, reviews computer technology opportunities for the church and recommends hardware/software as well as system networking options. The committee meets the fourth Tuesday of odd numbered months at 7:00 p.m., in Room 204.

The mission of this committee is to build, maintain, and make accessible a useful and meaningful collection of Christian materials that reaches out to all ages. The committee meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm in Room 303.
The committee determines the appropriate use of undesignated monetary gifts given to the church in memory of an individual. This committee meets as needed (appointed membership).
This committee is responsible for the compensated staff of the congregation. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining job descriptions and compensation schedules. The committee also reviews job performance and makes recommendations for hiring. It meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in Room 200 (appointed membership).
Committee members monitor the condition of church property and plan for maintenance, beautification, and expansion of facilities to accommodate numerous ministries. The committee meets the first Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m., in Room 303.

| This committee reaches out to the congregation and the community. Programs such as "Caregiver," and "Fifth Sunday Servant Event" provide opportunities to support varied outreach programs. The committee is also a vital part of Habitat for Humanity, the local Soup Kitchen, SCCAP and other social agencies. This committee meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7:15 p.m. in Room 200.

This committee emphasizes stewardship of time, talents and treasure as disciples of this faith community. The committee meets the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in Room 301.
This committee supports world-wide mission programs that include those of the synod and the Evangelical Church in America. This committee meets the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m., in Room 200.
| Worship and Music Committee |
| Assists the clergy, staff and council in planning and evaluating the worship services of the church so that they are conducted regularly and in accordance with the liturgical practices of the ELCA. The committee also supports, supervises and provides training for volunteers serving in worship: lay readers, communion assistants, ushers, sacristy, assisting ministers, acolytes and choirs. The committee meets the first Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m., in Room 301.
This committee helps to provide extensive ministry opportunities for youth at St. James. The committee determines the youth groups' operating policies, ensures adequate resources and develops some general planning ideas. The committee meets the first Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m., in the Keyser-Foltz Youth House, 121 & 123 York Street.
