June 19 – 21    White Cliffs Walks: Jerry & Imelda, George & Jean

Friday June 29                                     Ring Around Stewkley

For those intrepid Stewkley-ites who want to travel from home (and of course all others) this ring starts from 'The Swan' at 10.00am and follows the Cross Bucks Way over gentle hill and dale to Hollingdon and thence north and west to Drayton Parslow, where we shall stop for a light lunch at 1230-1245 at 'The Three Horseshoes.' By then you will have encountered 15 stiles and covered 4 miles – clearly the Stewkley kissing gates are not breeding adequately over this route! If that is all you wish to do, please arrange with a friend to leave a car at the pub before we meet. For the most intrepid, it is only another hour or so, 1½ miles and another 5 stiles over dale and hill back to the safety of the Stewkley enclave! Fields are in grass, so may be stock around – certainly sheep – so no dogs, please. Many of the tallest stiles have wire mesh, so you would have to lift dogs over anyway.
