About us

The Association exists to encourage the legitimate use of rights of way, especially in Stewkley, Buckinghamshire, and the surrounding areas. It liaises with local farmers and landowners to achieve clear definition and marking of local rights of way. It seeks to ensure the maintenance of the rights of way by a variety of methods, including liaising with the County Council and landowners and by activities undertaken by the Association.

We produce a quarterly programme of walks. These walks usually take place in the morning on varying days over approximately three to five miles and often conclude with a sociable lunch at a nearby hostelry. Walking is not compulsory, we have a number of non-walking members who support the Association. We also hold two social events each year, one of which is combined with the AGM.

If you would like to join this friendly group and support our work, please complete the attached form and send/bring it to The Secretary, 4 Farm Close, Stewkley, together with your subscription. The subscription runs from February each year and is £2 per person per year. Please make cheques payable to "Stewkley Rights of Way Association" which is our official title.

If you wouild like to report any problem with a footpath in the local area, or to contact the Association for any other reason please address your e-mail to the Secretary as follows:- "secretary@stewkleywalkers.org.uk".
