Volunteer Application Process

Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering with our organization. Without you, we could not develop or sustain our unique, free of charge iniatives and programs or our on going fundraising efforts.

The member, sponsors and volunteers of Stevie JoEllie's Cancer Care Fund work together to promote social awareness about general thyroid cancer educational facts. They help us help families, friends, educators and employers begin to understand psychosocial adjustment issues following thyroid cancer treatment and/or thyroidectomy due to hormonal imbalances and medical complications due to altered function or loss of a major endocrine organ.

Our volunteers believe and understand that social and emotional support are as important as medical care in the treatment of any cancer and realize that Thyroid Cancer Patients and Survivors have a subset of unique medical and supportive service needs beyond the "critical" treatment phase and post surgical/treatment process.

Their support and commitment contributes to the powerful energy and love that nurtures this very special iniative and all our service clients. Many of the volunteer activities that are available right now are listed here, but please feel free to add your own specialty or volunteer interest area if it is not listed.

Our dedicated and talented volunteers donate their time as Community Ambassadors to help us reach our fundraising goals, provide essential clerical supportive services to our program development and administrative staff, moderate our online support group and guide our members through the process of accessing relevant medical information and supportive services organizations and much, much more.

In fact, we welcome any suggestions on new ideas, creative workshops, activities and lectures as well as unique volunteer opportunities to help us reach our communities and develop programs and services that are relevant and usefult for our service clients.

Our volunteers may wear many different hats, at different times and their time and involvement may be just a few hours a year or a few hours each week but they all contribute in tangible and extremely important roles to help us accomplish our mission.

Volunteerism is an act of love and a precious gift--big or small, once a year or a few hours a day week-- volunteers touch our lives with the biggest contribution of all: PERSONAL TIME.

Stevie JoEllie's Cancer Care Fund will only be able to provide community outreach services with your help and the generosity of people like you with a diamond heart.
