The main goals of metaphysicians are to evaluate ones core belief system, getting to the heart and root of the issue, problem, question, and series of health cycles.
In metaphysical research, we discover that the majority of health problems are caused by your negative thoughts and rooted core beliefs. This foundation of beliefs begins when you are a small child. Your upbringing, grade school years, child experiences, teen hood, and social life, all form a solid structure of core beliefs.
In most health reports, you will find physicians advising the public to stay away from stress, strain, hostile, and negative environments. What we think and speak will greatly affect our health and well being. This is true for those around us, if you are verbally abused, and mentally tore down by any adult, spouse, teacher, authority figure, love one, or supervisor in your home, school, and work environment; this will affect your health and belief system. After all the body is connected to the mind, automatically.
Disease and illness will stream from your daily life and any past trauma. I have seen so many people emotionally wounded for life, due to abuse from their employment, home, or education system; this is not a rare ordeal. An emotionally wounded person has a higher incidence of chronic illness and a harder time healing or recuperating from a life threatening condition.
Therefore; imagine, in this type of therapy, you as the client accepting or receiving affirmations from someone who only has one goal in mind- your health and emotional recuperation. Period. Your emotional growth occurs naturally and is allowed to unfold at your pace. This is not done harshly or with any force, you release and heal at your own speed. Affirmation Sessions do involve spiritual healing, intuition, and discernment. Healing Affirmations Video Samples
That is why it is very important to have a good, comfortable, relaxed, relationship with your therapist. For Example, if you are a Christian, it is very important to have someone who can understand the spiritual aspect of your life. If your therapist is a different religion than you do, it is important to try to have a Healer, Monk, Minister, or Spiritual Director of your faith tradition or church, to help you with issues that involve religion or God.
For this particular therapy, you should search under Alternative Therapist, Metaphysicians, Metaphysical Physicians, Metaphysical Therapy, Metaphysical Counseling, Intuitive Healer, Intuitive Counselors, est. and you should pull up a selection of Trained Experts of different backgrounds, education, ministries, and price ranges to assist your core problems and budget.
If you are not able to find an affirmation therapist in your local area or if you are not feeling well enough to attend yet another healthcare session you can use a pre-recorded audio tape. There are many such tapes available online or in many audio book stores, or music stores. Because this type of therapy does take a lot of sessions to heal the issue.
The results may not be instant or speedy for any client. The healing speed will vary and depend on core beliefs. Therefore it's probably a good idea to purchase audio tapes or meet with a free cancer care support group that practices affirmations regularly. You may find some medical physicians will advise their patients to seek Alternative Therapy options. These are usually common with chronic ill clients, however; doctors will warn them of the slow healing results.
In my experience affirmation audio tapes used at home everyday for 30 days at bedtime or as a "meditation' routine are just as effective as expensive private sessions with a therapist. Because affirmation therapy can aid and repair many health restrictions, illness, mental and emotional problems you should view this therapy as a healing component to your medical care. The two blend together in perfect serendipity.
Some spiritual skeptics will often wonder how you stay healthy, one minute you are fearful of many illnesses, and weak in health, and the next month you are bouncing of the walls with beautiful energy and life. If you become a Fan of Alternative Therapy, you will grow very familiar with ways of taking care of your self; mind, body, and soul.
For illness examples,(I included only a few;) affirmations can aid any disorder or disease:
- Self-Esteem problems,
- Addictions of all sorts and personality disorders
- Anorexia and Bulimia,
- Overeating and stress,
- Headaches, and Chronic Pain,
- Hypoglycemia and diabetes,
- Nicotine Addiction,
- Recurrent Colds and some allergies
- Cancer and bleeding disorders, EST
Of Course, some individuals will say this is a lot of work, I have no time to do this therapy, or it sounds almost impossible. I can relate to theses series of questions and thoughts. I do know from counseling sessions, that any Metaphysical Therapy does work over a period of time. For Those clients that are advanced or highly intuitive, this will work within days, no problem.
You learn to change your reality and heal your life, working from the inside, to your external, outside. Emotional issues will decrease, your feeling of self control and perception of health improves dramatically, helping you will feel more at peace. Whatever challenges you face, you will grow stronger, secure, and more experienced. The goal is for Clients to achieve success and well being at a faster rate than if they are left to their own fearful self defeating devices.
Try affirmation therapies natural self-healing methods today; you will live a longer, peaceful, and happier life in the end.
Finding a TherapistThings you should know if you choose to seek professional affirmaton therapy:
Affirmation therapy involves the therapist’s affective, not effective, presence with a client—in other words, it is a way of “being” with a person as opposed to “doing” something for him or her. Affirmation therapy can be formally described as a way of being affectively present to another human person in a therapeutic relationship in which the therapist reveals to the client his or her intrinsic goodness and worth, including the clients self healing mind power and other powerful perceptions of realities intrinsic to overall health, well being and the ability to overcome crisis.
Affirmation is a profound way of being with someone that should not be mistaken for a set of simplistic techniques such as giving a pat on the back or a superficial and shallow, empty compliment. Any actions or interventions on the part of the therapist are secondary to the therapist’s affective presence and are only healing in the context of the acceptance nurturing environment created by the therapist.
The authentic care and concern, for the client by the therapist is communicated on an emotional level through the therapist's facial expression, countenance and other nonverbal communication, as well as very gentle words of encouragement, support, acceptance and healing emanating naturally from the therapist’s perception of the clients needs and reality.
This affective presence allows the client to feel cared for, worth fighting for and empowered to direct and control his or her emotional growth and self healing instead of simply trying to believe it with his or her intellect based on the words of the client's family, friends, cancer care team or therapist. As the client accepts or receives affirmations from the therapist, emotional growth and acceptance occurs naturally and is allowed to unfold at the client’s pace. This emotional growth is comparable to the growth and development of a child as it receives the nurturing love of a parent.
In affirmation therapy, the therapist’s role can be likened to that of a parent—nurturing, loving, understanding, giving example, teaching moral truths according to the capacity and belief system of the client, and seeing to the individual’s intellectual, emotional, and spiritual needs. This therapeutic relationship involves a mutual sharing of the client’s life experiences, emotions, fears and anxieties, as well as an exploration of the past and present as it relates to the symptomatology of the client.
Most importantly, the therapist reveals the goodness of the client to the client through his or her gentle affective presence, which allows for the client's emotional, intellectual and spiritual growth; allowing some emotional symptoms to be outgrown and gradually disappear, and allowing for intellectual motivation to help in the physical healing process.
Even though there are no “techniques” to learn in affirmation therapy, various strategies are used by the therapist:
• Early relationships between the client and his or her health or healthcare team and significant others are explored as necessary in order to understand the extent of affirmation that the client has received and any other factors that may affect the individual healing needs in each case.
• The therapist teaches the client about the emotional life, especially about the importance of accepting all of one’s emotions as good and necessary to psychological wholeness.
• The therapist gently guides the client’s emotional growth in a way that fosters a mature understanding of the current emotional life he or she is experiencing and allows for an increased awareness and healthy integration of feelings and emotions.
• The therapist pays close attention to the areas in which the client feels badly about himself or herself, distressed or discouraged, and gently teaches the client the fallacy of any erroneous or irrational beliefs without criticism or reprimand, disapproval or rejection.
The role of affirmation therapy is to the teach the mind how to lead the body into the natural process of self healing.
Affirmation therapy may be practiced at home in private using audio tapes or recordings at your own pace when it's convenient for you. To be effective and help a client gain the most benefit from affirmation therapy it should be done on daily basis for a minimum of 30 days. Once you have disciplined yourself to practice affirmations daily, it will become second nature to you and you may wonder how did you ever got along without it before now.
Affirmation therapy works in many areas of your life and can be a tremendous tool for emotional and intellectual growth, both for personal and professional development, including self confidence, anxiety, depression, pain management and insomnia to name a few.
Guided Imagery
Martin L. Rossman, M.D., co-founder of The Academy for Guided Imagery, has said:
"The imagination is probably a person’s least utilized health resource. It can be used to remember and recreate the past, develop insight into the present, influence physical health, enhance creativity and inspiration, and anticipate possible futures. . . . the internal process involved in worrying yourself sick and imagining yourself well are quite similar."
Our bodies do not discriminate between sensory images in the mind and what we call reality. This opens up numerous possibilities for the effective use of guided imagery during sessions. Imagery may be utilized to create a feeling of peacefulness, to create the inner receptivity to changes that are desired physically and/or emotionally, to access inner wisdom, to prepare for events like surgery, to name just a few.
Imagery has been shown to affect:
- heart rate
- respiratory patterns
- blood pressure
- brain wave rhythms
- temperature of tissues
- levels of hormones and neurotransmitters in the blood
- gastrointestinal motility and secretions
- immune system function
Imagery helps to access emotions that may be manifesting as physical ailments, and can be tailored to address the psychological as well as the physical issues associated with illness. For example, with an autoimmune illness such as rheumatoid arthritis, you can visualize swelling leaving the joints and also that you are kinder to yourself (regarding the body attacking itself). Guided imagery is often used for relief of:
- chronic pain
- headaches
- allergies
- stress-related gastrointestinal symptoms
- high blood pressure
- reproductive irregularities
- to promote overall wellness, confidence, and improved performance (e.g., in sports)
