The Process:

The Process:
- Look through magazines and find some images of faces/ people that you will want to use for your art. You do not need to cut out all of one person--maybe just their mouth, or eyes to use in combination with another person's face. Here is an example of what I mean--notice how the sizes of the facial features don't match up--that's OK!!! It makes it look more interesting.

- Arrange your people/faces on the white paper and glue them down. Draw some surroundings around these people using pencil. Are they outside or inside? Are they in the city or country? If so, what would they see around them? What does their environment look like?
- Use your black sharpie/marker and go over your pencil lines. Here is an example:

- Using watercolor paints, add color to your background images to make them stand out more. Use bright, vibrant color like Romare Bearden did. Here is an example:

- (Optional)Tear off some pieces of colored tissue paper and collage it over top of some parts of your collage to ad more texture and variety. **You can make the tissue paper stick by using glue. If you have the white elmers glue, adding a little water to it to thin it out will let the tissue paper dry clear.**
- Once it is dry--take a look at your art once more. Is there any areas that you can add some other art material to? Perhaps using crayon/marker/colored pencil in a certain spot might add some more interest to your collage!!!
