Steven James Ingman was born in 1984. He spent his childhood in the small farming village of Misson situated on the border between Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire. He attended the local primary school where his father was head teacher.

Steven discovered his love for art at the Elizabethan High School in Retford, progressing to Lincoln University’s Foundation Course leading to a 2.1 Honours degree in Fine Art.  Upon graduation, Steven was awarded the “purchase prize”, and one of his paintings now resides in the University collection

Steven’s first professional show sold out completely, and 2008 he won his first accolade, voted as best in show in “Fresh 2” in Nottingham. Winning the Derby Open later that year he was awarded a solo show for 2010 at the Derby City Museum and Art Gallery. In 2009 the Arts Council England awarded him a one-year bursary to support the creation of new work for this exhibition.

Steven Ingman lives and works in Nottingham, his studio is based at 3rd space Studio's in Sherwood.
