Nigerian Breweries Plc and Farafina Trust, a non-profit literary foundation, are organizing a creative writing workshop for both published and unpublished writers. Objective:
The objective of the initiative, which is the brain-child of Chimamanda Adichie, the award-winning author of Purple Hibiscus and Half of a Yellow Sun, is to promote literary skills development of young writers who will become the future Wole Soyinkas and the Chinua Achebes. Timelines The programme will officially kick off on 1st July, 2009, with print adverts and radio jingles inviting entries for the workshop. The closing date for receiving entries is 30th July, 2009. Winners will be notified by 15th August, 2009. Training will hold in Lagos between 17th September 2009 and 26th September 2009. Accommodation will be provided for the 20 participants.
