One of my research interests is in the History of Mathematics, in particular the work of Leonhard Euler.
- I am a co-founder and co-director of The Euler Archive, online at http://www.eulerarchive.org . The Euler Archive is an online resource for Leonhard
Euler's original works and modern Euler scholarship. This dynamic
library and database provides access to Euler's original publications,
and references to available translations and current research.
I was interviewed about the Euler Archive, which appeared in print as: "The Euler Archive: An Interview with the Founders", FOCUS: The Newsletter of the Mathematical Association of America, January 2007.
Some of my publications about the History of Mathematics include:
- Klyve, D. and L. Stemkoski, "Graeco-Latin Squares and a Mistaken Conjecture of Euler",
College Mathematics Journal, Volume 1 (2006), 2--15.
This article was selected for inclusion in the book:
The Genius of Euler: Reflections on his Life and Work, W. Dunham (ed.), Mathematical Assoc. of America, 2007.
- Lathrop, C. and L. Stemkoski, "Parallels in the work of Leonhard Euler and Thomas Clausen",
in Euler at 300: An Appreciation, Bradley et. al. (ed.), Mathematical Assoc. of America, 2007.
- Klyve, D. and L. Stemkoski, "The Euler Archive: Giving Euler to the World",
in Euler at 300: An Appreciation, Bradley et. al. (ed.), Mathematical Assoc. of America, 2007.
- Stemkoski, L., Review of The Early Mathematics of Leonhard Euler, by C. E. Sandifer,
Reviewed in The MAA Mathematical Sciences Digital Library, March 2007.
