Welcome to our Bichon Frise Information page. Our family's hobby is showing our champion Bichons at dog shows and we ocassionally do have puppies. We live in the metropolitan Washington, DC area on the Virginia side and all our puppies are raised in our kitchen. The Bichon makes a wonderful companion and family pet. However, based on our experience, this is not the right breed for the family that leaves for work every day at 7 a.m. and doesn't get home 'til 6 p.m. If this is the case, you will have a VERY unhappy doggie waiting for you when you get home.
PUREBRED Dog Breeding We believe that breeding dogs, or any animals for that matter, means taking on a very big responsibility. First of all, its not the way nature intended it to be, so if we are going to intervene, we must be extremely careful to select just the right sire and dam, making sure that they are healthy and that their parents and parent's parents are healthy and happy dogs. Since we don't own a male Bichon, we go to great lengths to find the healthiest and happiest (and most beautiful) sire that we can. We find out all we can about him and also evaluate any puppies that he may have sired. We get expert advice from our mentors who go over the pedigrees to make sure we've made a good match.
Photos There are a few pictures of our bichons on the link to the left. The picture below shows Polly and Stella at a dog show. We are planning a litter for Stella soon.
For more information Check back for more information soon, but in the meantime, if you'd like to know more about the breed, please go to Gayle Sarner's website, www.bichonz.com. Gayle lives in California and has been a great mentor to us.
Puppies We are planning a litter that should be arriving this summer (2011) but we don't have any puppies right now. Please let us know if you'd like to be on our waiting list. We are happy to provide you with advice in your search for a bichon. Please send an email to pollystreet@yahoo.com , tell us a little bit about yourself, let us know how we can help and then we can arrange a time to talk on the phone.
Sincerely,
Polly and Chauncey Street
