So you’ve just been told that you will be teaching tourism in the next few weeks…what do you do? Where do you find key information to get yourself started.

First, check out the provincial tourism curriculum updated a couple of years ago. You can get the learning outcomes and create your own program, or you can follow the provincial curriculum.

Second, have a look at the Secondary Tourism Educators Group website STEG-BC. STEG-BC is an ad hoc group of teachers passionate about teaching tourism and sharing resources. The site is occasionally updated and has some good links to get you started.

Third, check out the BC Centre for Tourism Leadership and Innovation at www.bctli.ca
