Education

I was brought up and went to school in Leicester, where I gained nine O-Levels and three A-Levels. I then studied at Brunel University, from where I graduated in 1983 with a 2:1 honours degree in Computer Science. This was a four year thin sandwich course, during which I spent three periods of six months industrial training with three different government establishments.

Further education and other activities

Took evening classes to learn Delphi (1995) and C++ (1999).
Took Learning Tree courses to learn MS SQL Server (1996) and Java (2007).
Learned Perl and MySQL "on the job", and have implemented home applications with MySQL back end.
