Hello! I am Miss Staudt, and I am so happy to be the third grade teacher. On this page, I just wanted to take some time to share a little about myself, so you can get to know me a bit better. ![]() I grew up in LaGrange, KY, which is an hour south of the Northern Kentucky area--I lived about 30 minutes outside Louisville. My schooling, K-12 was in Catholic schools. The grade school I attended was Immaculate Conception, and I attended Mercy Academy for high school. I then came to this area to attend college at Northern Kentucky University, where I studied elementary education. I have known I wanted to be a teacher ever since I left 2nd grade; I adored my teacher, and I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. Here I am now in my 2nd year of teaching, and I love it!
Being at NKU provided me an amazing opportunity to be able to study abroad. All four years I attended NKU, I went to a different country. My freshman year, I wentto Ireland for two weeks to study the education system and visit schools (and do a lot of sightseeing!). My sophomore year, I went to Mexico for a week for a service learning trip, where my class and I worked with students at a school in a very poor area of Mexico. We taught them some English (they taught us a bit of Spanish), and we brought school supplies and resources to the school, since they did not have much at all. It was a very rewarding experience. My junior year, I was able to choose my own trip, so I went on an archeology trip to Italy and Greece to visit ancient ruins like Pompeii, the Acropolis, Delphi, etc. Finally, my senior year, I had the ![]() chance to student teach abroad, so I went back to Ireland to student teach for eight weeks at Realt na Mara in Dundalk. While I was over there, I had the chance to visit London and Amsterdam, which were both spectacular traveling experiences. I bring many of these experiences into the classroom, when they relate to content being learned, and everyone enjoys this sharing of pictures.
four years old. I began taking ballet and tap, and years later, began studying just ballet and jazz. Ballet is my favorite style, and at the age of ten, I began training in Pointe ballet. During my four years at Mercy Academy, and three of my four years at NKU, I was on the dance team. Currently, I am still taking dance classes at the studio I work at, which is Progressions in Union. When I was in grade school, I also competed the sport of gymnastics (3rd-8th grade). I hold state titles on Level 6 floor exercise and uneven parallel bars, and a 2nd place all-around.
I am very close to my family, and my students will probably hear me talk about my family quite a bit. They are very important people in my life. My parents still live close to Louisville, in a log home we built my sophomore year of high school. My sister is a junior this year at NKU, and she is studying pre-med. Hopefully, throughout the year, my students will have a chance to meet my amazing family! |
