In the middle of Gothenburg commercial metropolis Nordstan, in a rushing crowd, we will in seven days, bid on pole jumping of the highest quality.
Stavhoppskarnevalen (Pole-vault Carnival) is an initiative aimed at making the sport more audience-friendly according to the principle “If Mohammed won't come to the mountain, the mountain must come to Mohammed”. It is an experience a la "close encounters of the third degree", a spectacle that otherwise can only be seen at a distance from a lighter at the World Championships stadium Ullevi in Gothenburg or Olympic stadiums in Beijing, Athens, Los Angeles or Sydney. During the carnival, several races will be carried out ranging from talented teenagers to established pole jumper at the national level.
