![]() My name is James Staten and I'm a 40 something endurance athlete, coach, and charity volunteer who in 2010 became the first person to run every mile of every Rock and Roll Endurance Series event in 2010. With 37 marathons and countless half marathons under my belt, I ran all eight marathons and the six half marathons in this series all in the same calendar year. This year I will be attempting to break the 3 hour mark for the marathon. All marathons this year are part of my ten-year quest to complete 50 marathons by my 50th birthday. You can hire me for endorsements via the Brand Affinity Technologies system On the calendar in 2011 are:
As a runner I have qualified for and run the Boston (2008) and New York (2009) marathons, have a marathon PR of 3:17 (PF Chang's Rock and Roll Arizona) and a half marathon PR of 1:28 (Rock & Roll Dallas Half).
In addition to being a runner, I am a coach for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program. I have been with the Northern California Chapter since 2003; a coach since 2007. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to share my love of running, help others experience the thrill of crossing that finish line and helping them to raise the funds needed to beat cancer.
Through this web site, my blog and Twitter I will be chronicling my 50 by 50 quest, promoting my sponsors and encouraging others to join me and join Team in Training.
If your company is seeking an enthusiast, passionate athlete to represent you, I'm your man.
What I can do for you:
Sponsorship will provide your company with visibility through my training, promotion and coaching activities throughout my 2011 training and race schedule. I will wear your company logo on my training and event competition attire and am willing to participate in your marketing efforts, make appearances and speak at events on your behalf. I am an accomplished presenter who is media trained (and a former journalist). I am an enthusiastic, determined and professional individual who will represent your company in the most mature and responsible manner.
PR efforts thus far have yielded a profile in San Francisco Magazine and RunNow.com and Podcast interviews with Runcast.net and Running with Ghosts, The Extra Mile Podcast. See the full press coverage list on the left-hand side of this page.
Won't you help me complete this quest and participate in it with me?
