The U.S.S Hermes is a ship that ws originally created by Starfleet purely for  reconnasiaince purposes, it being the fastest and stealthiest ship in the fleet, but after it's maiden voyage, when it ran afoul of some Ferengi, the Hermes was given some extra firepower. She has top-of-the-line warp systems, and a slim, sleek design rarely seen in the fleet.
