Our preparations include bimonthly workshops, and we're also offering a
close-up view of the nine-month gestation of this babe via the
ultrasound blogosphere. In other words, I'm posting a weekly blog of
workshop reports, storyboards, videos, design sketches, photos of
puppets in process, research and wild ideas on the evolution of this Tempest. We welcome comments. We're at http://www.independenteye.org/news/index.ht The Tempest
weblog is for people interested in theatre, Shakespeare, puppetry,
backstage glimpses, magical islands or the creative process in
general. So we invite you to participate in its evolution. I post every Monday or Tuesday. Still recovering from the opening of Rash Acts, with two more weeks to go. If my opening-night post-partum bronchitis clears up, sculpting for Tempest starts tomorrow. Peace & joy— Conrad Bishop OZARK project - http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=55293969&blogId=454378936- Greetings Ya'll, Want
to let you know that our new CD out and we are having such amazing
experiences with the whole OZARK project. We got an Arkansas Heritage
Grant to do this in conjunction with Jones Television. That enabled us
to make the CD/Booklet and documentary about these characters. We
have performed about 7 of the free community concerts so far, in the
communities where the folks hail from. All the proceeds (in Arkansas)
from the Cd/book will go to Play it again, Arkansas to get banjos,
fiddle, dulcimers and the like for any student who wants to keep the
traditions alive and learn how to play a folk instrument. We have
already raised over $2,000 for the cause! Visit our website at
www.stillonthehill.com and click on the lower right corner on OZARK to
learn more about these folks. There is a slide show with sound track
about one of the most amazing homemade instrument makers in the world,
Ed Stilley of Hogscald Holler, Arkansas. You don't want to miss taking
a look and listen at that! We are also excited that last month
in November our new Ozark CD was 1 on the FOLKDJ list and we were
voted 1 Artist as well. We are honored and thrilled. Another
exciting thing is that our good friends, the AMAZING group, Trout
Fishing in America just got a Grammy Nomination for their new CD and WE
ARE GUEST ARTISTS on a couple songs! WHEEEEE. Lots of good stuff going on. PLEASE join our mailing list on our website as well. Donna and Kelly Still on the HillFree Acting Workshop at Fort Mason Center Rachael
