American Conservatory Theatre: Donor Systems Coordinator DATE: February 19, 2010
STATUS: Full time Regular/Non-exempt REPORTS TO: Manager of Individual & Alumni Affairs SALARY: DOE + benefits A.C.T. seeks individual to coordinate its donor database system. Working under the direction of the Manager of Individual and Alumni Affairs, the Coordinator processes all contributions, provides comprehensive donor analysis and reporting to the department, and ensures all donors are acknowledged and recognized in an accurate, timely fashion. Specific responsibilities include: Processes all contributions; inputs pledges; maintains and updates donor records; prepares journal entries; responsible for tracking in-kind donations.  Generates analysis, reports and mailing lists for department members and trains staff members on Paciolan development software.  Generates acknowledgment letters for all gifts of less than $1,000; ensures donors are acknowledged in a timely manner.  Acts as liaison with IT and Finance departments.
Prepares daily deposits and generates monthly income reports and works with the Finance department to reconcile income to general ledger.  Ensures accuracy of donor recognition: Produces the donor listing for the performance program.  Generates data for grant proposals and reporting.  Represents the development department during annual audit as primary point person. Prepares schedules and other documentation for the annual audit.The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Arts degree and two years of related work experience, preferably in a non-profit organization. Specific requirements include: Knowledge of database systems, as well as computer literacy with Microsoft business products (Excel, Word) Demonstrated ability to work under pressure of strict deadlines. Requires an extraordinary degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Will be expected to learn Paciolan ticketing and development software. Playwright Opportunity Sundog Theatre is currently accepting short one-act plays for its annual Scenes from the Staten Island Ferry 2010. Due to an administrative glitch, they did not get the word out sufficiently about this project and are extending the deadline to January 25. Guidelines: Submit original plays not previously produced or published. All plays should be from 10-20 minutes in length and have their setting on the Staten Island Ferry. Remuneration: Six authors will receive $100 and be produced in a series of 8 performances in March of 2010, in Staten Island at the New Dorp Moravian Theatre and in Manhattan at the beautiful McGinn Cazale Theatre on Broadway and 76th Street. The copywriter will be the primary writer/editor for marketing collateral generated by departments within A.C.T. Specific duties are varied and will include, but are not limited to, the creation/writing, editing, and proofreading of copy for marketing brochures, subscription mailing materials (including play descriptions), print and radio ads, promotions, other institutional print materials, as well as e-blasts, e-newsletters, and website content. Shimer College, the Great Books College of Chicago, is seeking to fill fulltime faculty position(s) beginning in August 2010.  Shimer’s academic program features an interdisciplinary core curriculum consisting of courses in the humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences. Classes average ten students and are conducted in a seminar format. Shimer faculty members are generalists who are expected to teach in more than one area of the curriculum. The faculty participates extensively in the life of the College outside of the classroom. Shimer is very small (currently 110 students) but growing: enrollment his reason to 50% over the past two years and is expected to continue to increase next year.
