Starkville Multi-Culture Lions Club in an effort to keep our state highway roadsides clean and attractive has adopted 2-mile stretch of Hwy 12 just after Wal-Mart.
Our very first Highway Clean-up was held on Jan 9, 2010. Starkville Mayor Parker Wiseman was present to inaugurate the Highway Clean-up project. He was joined by 28 people that included members of Starkville Multi-Culture Lions and other friends of SMC Lions Club from Nigerian Student Association and Indian Student Association.
Our goal is to help clean up roadside litter at this adopted stretch every 3 months and make it appealing for local people and outsiders visiting Starkville. This will create an everlasting, positive impression on the environment and the community.
