Welcome to St. Angela Merici Old Catholic Church
St. Angela Merici Old Catholic Church is a vibrant faith community for active, progressive Cathholics and others in Baltimore, with a Special ministry to the Deaf, Disabled, and the Disenfranchised. We are Handicap Accessible. Public transportation twice an hour is within walking distance.
We offer Mass with Communion open to all Christians every Sunday at 6:00pm and Holy Days at 7:30pm.
Mass is Interpreted for the Deaf on the 4th Sunday of Each month at 6:00pm. We hope to have an interpreter each Sunday in the near future. Our Mass is easy to follow for those who lip read, as well as for the blind.
We have a monthly movie (with Closed Caption) Social Night. 4th Thursday of the month 7:30pm except Dec.
We have an extension of our services celebrated on the 1st and 5th Sundays of the month at 2:30pm in Towson on East Joppa Rd. Please contact us for more information.
We administer all sacraments including Baptism, Weddings, and Funerals. We are available for Hospital, Nursing Home, and Prison visitations.
Saint Angela Merici parish is staffed by clergy from two different religious orders:
- The Order of Servant Francsicans;
- The Old Catholic Society of Jesus;
- The Anacletian Brothers and Sisters;
Catholic in tradition and spirituality, but liberated from the traditional reigns and limitations found in the institutional Roman Catholic Church. This parish is not in any way connected with the
Roman Catholic Church, or the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore
Catholic, or Not Catholic
Like the Episcopal and Anglican Churches throughout the world, we too are a catholic organization. The Roman Catholic church considers us “valid, but illicit,” which means we are validly ordained deacons, priests, and bishops, yet illicit as we do not accept the pope as the head of our church.
