Hopefully, you will never have to participate in a walk-in, but if you are unlucky enough to have not been assigned housing in the waiting list round, you will have to attend the walk-in sessions during the first week of the quarter. The run-down of the meeting is as follows: - In order of priority, you will be called up to select your housing out of the current vacancies. Priority is determined by your guarantee status, as well as whether or not you are enrolled in classes.
- If you are not able to attend, you may send a proxy to be there in your place. However, you need to fill in a proxy form on the Stanford Undergraduate Housing website. If you do not show up, and you do not send a proxy, you will not get housing.
- If you decide to accept a housing opportunity and decide to cancel, you will be charged a hefty $200 cancellation fee. This applies, regardless of whether or not a proxy made this decision.
If you are worried about whether or not you will be able to get housing, you may want to check out the page on Stanford's Housing Guarantee. |
