The waiting list is the second round in the housing assignment process. It comes after the draw, but before walk-ins. There are several reasons why you may be looking at this page. For specifics on how exactly to go about submitting forms, check out the Application Process page. If you were not assigned housing in the draw, but do not fall in the following groups, you should contact the Stanford Housing Office for advice. - You missed the deadline for the draw, but made the deadline for the waiting list. You will be assigned a draw number from the regular pool of numbers.
- You entered the draw, but were not assigned housing. You will retain your original draw number into the waiting list round.
- You do not like the housing assignment you received in the draw. Since you are asking for a reassignment, you will be given a new draw number according to the date you submit your request. These draw numbers will be drawn from the bottom of the pool, so they will be very bad.
- You are coming back from being abroad. If you entered the draw in the previous spring, then your draw number will be retained. If not, you will be treated as if you just missed the draw deadline.
The waiting list proceeds as follows. - Students are sorted first by guarantee status (whether or not you have guarantee years remaining).
- Then, you will be sorted by your draw number
- You will then be assigned to vacancies in the above mentioned order
