Why Fly Kites?

It's Stress Relieving
To stay sane and to lead an enjoyable life, a work/play balance must be struck. Kite flying can be a great way to de-stress and relieve the anxieties of your stressful life, be it the life of a student, businessperson, doctor or other job. Kite flying allows you to get a breath of fresh air and allows you to clear your mind as you see your kite sway in the breeze and feel the gentle pressure of the wind.

It's Easy to Get Started
Some hobbies, such as learning an instrument or martial arts, can take a lot of time up a lot of time and result in frustration, contributing to more stress in your life.
For example, taking up an instrument or learning a martial art takes a lot of practice to develop a certain skill. Kite flying is readily accessible to anyone. Flying a kite is so simple that even little kids can do it. However, once you have mastered flying a simple kite, such as a single line kite, there are more advanced kites to progress towards. If you really get into it, you can even make your own kites.

It's Inexpensive and Low Commitment
Other activities and hobbies people use as an outlet for stress relief, such as yoga, might cost hundreds of dollars a year. It can also be troublesome trying schedule time in your busy schedule for classes. Kite flying is a fun and flexible alternative or supplement to these activities. The only cost is purchasing a kite, which might only be $25. You can fly kites on your own time and at your own leisure. The materials you need to get started are a kite and an open space, both of which are easily found.

It's Fun to Do with Friends
The Kite Flying Society was founded to not only promote kite flying as an activity, but to establish an organization of people who are interested in having fun together. Although kite flying can be an individualistic activity, you can also do it with your friends. Of course, you might run into trouble trying to avoid getting the lines tangled up, but the ensuing chaos might result in more fun. Kite flying is also a very family friendly activity. There are many kites with cute designs that kids would find amusing. Kite flying can be a great way to get the family outdoors and actively doing something together.
