Hoover Institution gets papers of late Chief Justice Rehnquist 
The papers of William H. Rehnquist, '48, MA '48, JD '52, who served as the country's chief justice from 1986 until his death in 2005, have been donated to the Hoover Institution Archives. 

Stanford building nation's largest stem cell center 
The School of Medicine broke ground October 27 for the Lorry I. Lokey Stem Cell Research Building, scheduled to open in the summer of 2010.

Stanford will close out the 2008 regular season Saturday in Berkeley against the California Golden Bears in the 111th renewal of the Big Game. A win over Cal would make the Cardinal bowl-eligible for the first time since the 2001 season.

Sabine Kohler, a professor of pathology and of dermatology whose expertise in skin biopsies benefited hundreds of patients while also leading to new approaches for these critical diagnostic tests, has died at 47.
